275/50/15 M/T DRAG RADIAL,what rim width?

im going with a 275/50/15 m/t drag radial on a 15" weld draglite, what should i go on rim width, 15x8 or 15x10, its a 83 lx coupe with no quad shocks, so what can i put on there without any mods to the fender or issuses with rubbing, whats backspacing would best help with that

thanks for the help

wtf WRONG 15x8 with a 5.5 bs you need a 6.5 in backspace with a 15x10 and it gets a little tight under there with a 10

A 275 on a 7" rim is gonna cut the tire life in half.

You can do the 275/50/15 on an 8" or 10" wheel... I would personally go 8" with a 50 series though. I have seen people use the 275/60/15 on a 10" wheel and it fits perfectly.

And yeah, 10" will require a 6.5" backspace.

Most people dont want to beat their fenders with a hammer to fit tires. And a really a 7 inch wide rim is to narrow for a 295. You should have at least a 15x 8 on there..

That is what I run... no issues, no beating stuff up. Yes, the 275/60's work great with a 10" wide wheel...only with minimal inner fenderwell "massaging"...lol

I have factory control arms under my car. Tire life doesnt really bother me personally much since I run a drag tire most of the time anyway. I didnt beat anything to roll my fenders I'm not an idiot they do maker a fender roller. I have 15x7's cause thats what the guy had I traded the wheels for had.

Personally, I'd get a 9" wheel.

I have a set of 15 x 9" prostars with a 6" backspace on my 88 gt.
