It will fit but is a waste of time and money for the same amount of hp. not worth it at all to jump back with the technology.

I hate to disagree, but having a 5.0 HO will in the end give you more hp after modding than a 3.8 can even think about. Sure if you poor thousands in that v6 you can get it to go pretty fast but, in the race to have lots of fun with good hp, that 5.0 is the winner.

Yep once you are converted to the 5.O you can upgrade from there later instead of being restricted to your v6.. like a beefy block and cheaper after market parts.

I agree with powersrj you can build the 5.0 up to more horse with less money than what youd pay for a p.i 4.6 motor

sorry i have a 302 in a 65 a 302 in a 71 bronco and a 4.6 in my gt. sorry the 4.6 has tons more tq and i have more into my 302 to even come close. new mod motors have alot of potential. you can get a pi motor on ebay for 500, and start out with 240-260 hp. whats stock on a 302 190-220hp? keep looking for answers and ask more questions but i think you will be much happier with a 4.6. the power is easier to achive with a slightly more improved engine. if the 302/5.0 was as good as the mods they would not have changed production over. in addition to power you actually get some gas economy.

I personally would drop in a 4.6 since it is a 2000, or a 5.4. For some that would be a money issue though. You're talking about the difference of a thousand or more bucks just for the motor. Then add in the fact that mods for the 4.6 are fewer and more expensive. Top it off with this question-Have you ever seen anyone stroke a 4.6 to a 347 and make 400 hp n/a? The only way to get that out of a 4.6 is to forge the bottom end and run a supercharger or turbo. Which is, coincidentally, what I would do.

I do not know the details of your cars and I don't care what engine anyone decides to use for what ever reasons but the 87-93 5.0 and the 98 4.6 in the GT both had roughly 225HP and 300# of torque (3500rpm for the 4.6 and 3200rpm for the 5.0). From a pure paper standpoint, the 5.0 has 300 and the 4.6 has 285. I guess if you plan on comparing that to carbed stock 5.0 engines from the 60's, you would have a lot less.

5.0 HO WTF! Easier to mod, cheaper to mod, parts are more abundant, and the aftermarket on the 4.6 is still slacking after over 10 yrs of production.
