What Fluid do you use in your T5 Tranny?

Just wondering what ya guys are using. I want to change the fluid in mine but dont know what to use.

What year? If its a 83-84 it uses 70w gear oil. If its 85+ it uses ATF. It uses ATF for the purpose of lubricating the needle bearings the gears ride on. Use a synthetic ATF. Pre 85 were non world class with no needle bearings, hence the heavier oil.

DO NOT USE SYNTHETIC AFT IN A T-5!

Its lubricates to much and the syncros will no slow down between shifts and it will grind.

No synthetic ATF only.

You really cant use synthetic in a t-5, i was going to put royal purple in mine. Good thing i read this!

I emailed them to ask if they new what the heck they were talking about. Called D&D and they said use Dexron III.
