Heads and intake

I know that I am jumping the gun here, but i really want to know something! My mustang is still all stock because my parts aren't here yet, but is it worth porting my stock heads and intake, or would it be better to buy a whole top end like trickflow for about $2200. How much money does it cost to port the stock heads and intake, and would the gain in HP be worth it. I have plans in the future to get a trickflow top end, or maybe a different brand, but if the gains are worth it i might port the stock stuff first. Thanks

if a shop ported the heads it would probably cost around $100 a piece...im not sure on a power gain, but somewhere around 5 to 10 horses sounds good..not much, but they would deffinatley flow better and make other bolt ons perform better, but if you got the money...TRICK FLOW it all the way

I've heard that porting the stock heads are not really worth the money, considering the huge aftermarket support for the 5.0L. I would go with the Trick Flow or Holley Systemax package. The parts are made to compliment each other and it will give you the most bang for the buck.
