what do you guys think

ive been reading about overheating, and ive came to a decision.....i can either do a 3g upgrade - mark viii fan or 3g upgrade - high volume water pump. i have underdrive pullies, so ive read, that it pushes less water at idle...well altogeter, but my problem is at idle. My heat rises at idle and when i start driving again it will go down. i just want to be able to drive home with to ac on and not worry about overheating. so what do u guys think?

ya if i keep moving it will not get hotter....but at stop lights i have to turn the a/c off or it will just heat up and while driving around with the a/c on it will stay at around 190 - 210, w/ 180 t-stat

I got UD pulleys on mine and it does the same thing when you idle in alot of trafic at stop lights and drops when you start moving only on days when its above 80 outside. But thats the only time i really drive with the A/C on. Let me know about your solution mabey Ill give it a try also

An aluminum 3 core radiator may help with you problem. You already know the U/D pulley is main culprit of your overheating issues. Which brand of pulleys are you running? When I used Auto Specialties pulleys I did not have much of an issue with my water temp but did experience issues with the alternator.

You can put in a aftermarket radiator or a high flow water pump. I have both of them with an electric fan set to come on at 190. My car never gets hotter than 198 degrees on the hottest days no matter how long I sit in one spot. Summit Racing has a nice high flow water pump for like 80 bucks. I have it and it works great. Flows I think 30-40% more than stock..

i dont know what ud pulleys i have on there cuz the guy b4 me put them on. it does have a 3row radiator, new fan clutch and 180 tstat. it usually gets to 190 and stays driving around but when i turn on the ac it will climb to around 195-200 and when i stop it will just climb to around 212+

There is a reason for that. Shit parts low prices. I as a rule of thumb never buy hard parts from the likes of Advance, Autozone, ECT....
