Control Arm Bushings?
Hey guys, I noticed a clunk coming from the rear of the car once I got on the gas. Figured it was time for new u-joints but the clunk is still there. After taking a closer look I think it's the control arm bushings. I figure changing the stock control arms out for an after market set would be easier then changing out just the bushings. What kind of cost am I looking at, and are the gains worth the extra money for the whole set up rather than just the bushings and some extra work?

Daily driver or track car? Is launch more important than comfort? Price range is going to be anywhere from around 200 to 400 for a set. Price for bushing replacement is about 20 bucks. Welcome to the site.

Blue oval industries has a couple sets
check: http://www.blueovalindustries.com/products.php?pid=614 and they have some others also. I think you are right also, if I was going to all the trouble to take the control arms out, I would put new ones on too. Good Luck

Dont forget to change the axle bushings for the upper arm. As far as control arms I love my Steeda aluminums but I have also heard good things about the Maximum motorsport ones also.

All good tips thanks guys. The car isn't a daily driver or a track car, just a summer cruiser. Just got this one a couple months ago, but once a couple more mods go in and some subframe connectors she'll probably see the track a couple times a year.

I would say if you got the money just go with the aftermarket arms save you a little bit of time too
