help!! this is getting out of hand

ok. so i have bbk equal length headers on my 94 gt. the problem is i keep melting the #3 and #4 spark plug boots. so i bought some of those expensive boot covers that are supposed to be good up to like 1000 or something degrees. i put them on and all was well for awhile until i started getting a studder under fulll throttle. i pulled them and they were melted again. i just pulled the headers off and am willing to try about anything. thanks

If it was me I would either put unequals on or step up to long tubes.

SO you have an aftermarket mid pipe?

WEll sounds like you should just wrap the headers or get them ceramic coated...

Is it pulling a CEL?

ya i have an aftermarket h pipe. and its not pulling any codes other thatn the mis fire code from the melted wires. i think im just gonna put some different headers on as it will cost me too much in shipping to get them coated.

try a set of header spark plugs.... they're a bit shorter than the standard size. i had the same problem as you , and the shorter plugs work great

i concur, ceramic coating, or heat wrap
what kind of hood do you have?
