power steering


do i need a power steering pump or will my steering lockup with out it

You would have to buy a manual rack.

since i have the old rack from the 4 cylinder the part that screws into the
power steering pump is to big is there somthing i can buy to make it work

A power rack with no fluid will eventually lock up on you. Not only does the fluid assist steering, but it lubricates too.

I believe the fittings on those lines and the pump are national pipe thread. You can go to the hardware store and get an adapter

you can get a flaming river manual rack on ebay for like $150 and summit sells the adapter so you can use your stock steering shaft with the manual rack no problem. The adapter thing is like $70.
