Low Oil Light
I have driven my 5.0 conversion about 75 miles and it is running good. Within the last 5 miles, the low oil light came on. The oil level is good and it has good pressure. I want to try to trace the problem, but haven't found a definitive answer if low oil signifies low oil pressure or low oil level. Does anyone know for sure?
Thanks

I probably should have mentioned that
Stock oil pressure gauge does not display anything, but the previous owner removed the needles to install white gauge faces, so I assumed it was a related problem. Voltmeter doesn't register anything either. We took the oil pressure sending unit out temporarily and hooked up a mechanical gauge, it shows 40-60psi.

Why not pop the hood and take out the dipstick and check the oil?

Low oil light is actually refering to the amount of oil in the pan. If you jack the car up and look there is a sensor sticking out of one of the sides of the oil pan in the rear sump. This is the sending unit for that light. Its pretty common from what I hear for this sensor to go bad and send a faulty reading to that idiot light. It has nothing to do with low pressure, just oil level in the pan.
