What should my Air fuel mixture be?
I have a 1993 mustang vortech superchargered putting out 14 psi.
What should the air/fuel mixture read on my dyno sheets? Is 11.1 average good? Just trying to figure out why I broke a ring on #4 cylinder and why all my exhaust guides where burned out or melted however you what to be it. I'm thinking I might have gone lean. I also have a snow performance stage to kit installed but it was installed 4 months after the tune. Thanks

Shouldn't it be 14.X:1 ?

No 14:1 is detonation at WOT...
I run 12.5:1 @ WOT and that is right perfect from what my tuner told me... Is the 11.1 @ Wide Open Throttle or what? Do you ahve a dyno sheet? 11.1 is actually rich...Not lean... Sounds to me like you had other issues... |

Why do you ask? Do you need to know something off them? If I'm running rich that better than running lean. 508 hp and 508 torque to the rear wheels @5800 rpm I should get my motor back late next week. The motor builder said it got very hot at one time or another. I have a big radiator and a couple of perma cool 19008's and run 172 degrees year round What do you think?

Yes it is much better to be fat then lean... Have you checked your radiator for blockages? Did you burp the system last time you have it empty? What does you thermostat look like? Hows the spark plugs look? Are all the fuel injectors good? There are alot of issues that could have caused this... |

Everything on this motor is new including sensors and gaskets. Radiator in new. Burping the system? I made sure that there wasn't any air trapped In the cooling system by starting the car, letting the thermostat open and filling the radiator a few times anyway. This there a different way of burping the cooling system? I guess I have some detonation going on because the spark plugs where peppered a little. But I don't understand why if I'm running rich. What exactly do you need to know on my dyno sheet? I'll post it. Thanks. I appreciate your help

Every motor like something alittle different. A good tuner will adjust the car accordingly. There is of course a range that all engines need to be in but you cannot really get an exact answer to that question..
