No fuel pump < bad computer??
My 92 gt died on me and I had alot of upgrades done to it . I was told that the computer was bad and a used one fixed it. (E9ZF-12A650-Ca) is whats in there now.
I had a bunch of mods done intake edlebrock eliminator throttle body and mass air sensor K&m filter Twisted wedge 202 valve heads and their cam. accel coil cap and wires, and underpullys upgrade to 150 amp alternator, radiator electric fan roller rockers 24 lb injectors new high output fuel pump and regulator headman long headers cats out 2.5 in x pipe exaust, flowmaster mufflers 373 ford racing posi, aluminum driveshaft and flywheel kevlar clutch with some high performance pressure plate. Got rid of the aod and went tremec 5 speed billett short shifter lowering springs tokoko struts and shocks and camber plates and stuff I cant remember. It idled rough and was rich at idle but put a real grin above 2500 rpm ran it for 2 mths like this. Mpg dropped to probally 10 mpg. I sat for 6 mths but always started, now fuel pump is not running AGAIN Any clue wat to look for? Will The computer failure give a code? Is this the best computer now with this set up and a manual trans? I know I will need a good tuner and maybe a less radical cam. Looking at a hypertech chip deal too. Thanks for any help. My wife couldnt drive it any more so she got the Saleen 3 months ago she wasnt real upset!

Is there power to the fuel pump?
Sounds like you have some tuning issues. Those Trick Flow cams are far from radical. Your mileage should be alot better than 10mpg with a manual trans. I have pulled down 25mpg on the highway with a very similar set up.

ck for power at pump...if ok...ck ground. the groung runs through your inertia switch at the back...switch could be bad, or the relay itself may have gone bad. also ck all your grounds...sounds like mine did when i found bad ground cable and strap going to the fenderwell..

I will bypass the inertia switch and check the ground wire, I just got back from checking for codes and noticed the fuel guage not working and no check engine light. sure cranks real good. I will check for spark too.
By the way where is the fuel pump relaY I heard it was under the drivers seat. and where is the best place to get a voltage reading on the fuel pump? Thanks for the Help. |
