intermittent fan op.

I hope somebody can help me! It looks like my fan runs when it wants to!!!!!! W/ the car cold I can turn on a/c and fan comes on instantly, when car gets around 180-190 w/out a/c, fan comes on. Sometimes w/ or w/out a/c the fan will just stop running. Any clue?????

Thanks in advance,

CD

Sounds like it's working as it should. The fan is supposed to only come on around 192ish degrees or whenever the A/C is on.

yeah, everything appears to be ok, but occasionally it will get real hot (215 +) and I pull over and pop the hood and fan's not going at all. I do have the single core (stock i assume) radiator and i'm in C. TX where its been in triple digits lately. But still the fan cuts out on me, thats the only time it gets over 200, except when I run a/c. Any other advice? Could it be a temp sensor not sensing how hot it actually is?

Thanks again for help!!

sounds like the fan raley may be getting hot and dropping out or weak and ocassionally dropping off. Other possibility is the motor contacts are having problems, or losing motor ground
