Aftermarket intake vs Cobra intake...

Hi, I have a 95 cobra w/ the stock intake manifold, and I was wondering if it would be worth it to put on an aftermarket intake manifold? If so, what ones would you reccomend? Don't take it to the strip, just beat on it on the street, so I want something with good low end torque.

Thanks,
Brent

i would leave it alone ,your really not gonna gain much, especially if the motor is stock.the cobra intake may be dated but its a great intake.if you do take it off hang on to it the origanal non repro's are hard to find.

+1 The Cobra is a great intake for your stock motor. I would only change if the motor was stroked or you had a power adder.

Thanks for the responses guys. I think I'll just leave the Cobra intake on.

if you should ever decide to swap out the intake. Consider a Holley Systemax2.

try to avoid the professional products typhoon intake.

there is nothing wrong with the typhoon intake other than having some rough casting in the runners but that can be smoothed in no time.

since your long block is stock, I venture to say an intake swap would net less HP. The stock Cobra can be ported to flow 250-260cfm for heads that flow in that range if decide to upgrade heads later.

Cobra intakes work great. If you get a Trickflow/Eddy intake, get some heads and a cam as well...otherwise, no differance!
