Trade for 91 GT
Im looking at trading a guy my 96 gt for his 91 gt.
The 91 GT currently has a mechanical problem and im wondering what you guys think. Mods for 91: DSS shortblock GT-40 heads Anderson motorsport cam, not sure which one, i think he said B-303 or E-303 Has paxton novi 1000 s/c TKO 500 trans. Built rearend with 3.73s Those are the main things i can think of right now, not sure what else exactly. The problem with the car is what we believe to be something in the head. We think its either just a loose rocker, a bent valve and a head gasket. How much would this cost to fix? And now the main question. Should i trade? i know there is a lot of money that has been put into that car and i am seriosly thinking about it. I tried not to make it confusing. Any input would be great. |

I dont think im going to because its one of those deals that sounds to good to be true. Plus, hes got all that money wrapped up in the car and he is very anxious to get rid of it. I think there is more wrong with it than he is trying to say because the new motor only has a couple thousand miles and you dont just bend a valve or something that fast do you?

Not only that but why in the F*CK would you use GT40 heads on a DSS shortblock??? AFR's would acommodate MUCH better. I am not so sure this guy knows how to map his mods... I would stay away from it.

I wouldnt give him much 3500-4500 b/c it dont run and noone knows whats wrong with it.Just to let you know anderson ford dont make an e-303 or b-303 those are ford racing cams.If it has what he says it has on it hes put a good amount of money into that car.

I was thinking about that range also. I was thinking about just offering $3000 and see what he says and go from there. I am trying to drag it out as long as i can because im in no hurry beings that its not currently running.

I have a question though, everyone says the gt-40 heads were a bad idea on here so can you explain the reasoning? I know there are alot better performing aluminum heads out there that would make more power but is that the reason you guys say this or is there another reason i should know about?

I have aluminum GT40 heads. They came with the Ford 5.0 crate motor that was in the car when I bought it. I'm making decent power with them and boost. If you already have them, you are not going to get a big bang for your buck by getting something else. Maybe on a higher revving and more air hungry 347, different heads might make more of a difference?
