i dunno, it seems to me that all that the ls1 guys know how to talk about is how much faster their cars are than ours, than you bring up the 03 cobra and they seem to fade away.

well, i think that the second gen T/A is a very hot car come on bandit edition? 79 6.6 would rape us even your 347. but then third gens, which hint to mustangfan99 was 82-92, lt1s were in 93 not 94, are very shitty cars i had three of them two 350s and now a 305. big mistake is to underestimate the 305, it was designed more as a truck engine long stroke and small bore, which in turn means it was ment to be stroked and bored. my 305 is now a 355, it put down 378 last week with torque through the roof at roughly 450. the numbers in the 305 were underated about 10 in hp and about 30 in torque they can be a torque monster, such as trucks are. but the tpi L98 350 was all around a bad engine not much you can do with it, hates cams and hates pretty much anything that will get it outta the driveway.

there is nothing wrong with a great engine, that is what gm made, but the people that drive the ls1 cars can really piss me off, that is one reason that i tend to not like chevy, i get pissed at their owners, than i get pissed at the car, before I know it all i want to do is smoke the shit out of them, than i realize how stupid my logic is. If only ford had made the ls1.

the 6.6 is not a beast of an engine stock, it only puts out about 200 horses, its not a fast car at all, I kinda like the way it looks, but it is by no means a fast car. 99-04 V6 mustangs would give that car a very hard time.

uhhh no the "400" engine that went into the 79 T/As were actually olds 403s not the pontiac 400s as told by GM. they put down stock 375. but even that before the 400s put down like 300 not 200. and the torque on both was insane.

show me some specs and i will belive you, I know that they put the ponticac 400 in, but most of the 79 TA models left the factory with the olds 403, 375 hp stock in 79 seems way too high, maby 10 years before that but in 79, i doubt it.

the 4.6 dohc is a very nice engine, one that have given the ls1 a real run for its money, and in some cases (03-04 cobra) beaten the ls1.

some cases?

try most cases... the 03 - 04 Cobra will eat a ls1 alive.

ok i looked at specs and it says that they had law bullshit that no gm motor may eceed 300 hp so they rated them at 290 but itdefinatly says that it was far beyond that. but saying from personal experience take it or leave i have driven one that my mechanic owns, fully stock and fast as shit.

and yes 03-04 cobras own ls1s stock for stock, everytime.
