I have heard that the explorer has one of the best stock intakes but I am not sure if it will fit from the 4.6 to the 5.0 I don't think it will.

They are not exactly the same. you need to drill and tap a hole for the air temp sensor. The runners are also longer, and the intake comes really close to the hood. Keep your Edlebrock.

first question is this for 5.0L explorer???? and would it be benificial to switch this intake for a stock 88 5.0L intake

so if you take the top end from the explorer and put it on a 5.0..you can have a pretty nice setup going? didnt know that..but it is some good info

i have ported GT40 heads, ported cobra lower and stock explorer upper...With a few other mods, i am probably pushing 260+ RWHP through an AOD.
The lower intake and heads are two of the biggest bottlenecks on these cars...Get some gt40 heads (ported and a good valve job would be ideal), get a cobra or explorer lower and get it ported...TMOSS does great work..you can find him on corral.net very easy and does great work relatively cheap... It is indeed a nice budget build...
