Will a 275/40 ZR-17 fit on the rear of a 93 SVT Cobra??

Hey Guys,

Need some help. I have a 93 Mustang SVT Cobra with stock suspension. I've decided to put some new shoes on her in the rear. What is the widest tire that I can use to fit on a 17x9 rim. I've purchase some very nice black lacquer 5-star 17x9 rims and with my Vortech pushin 12psi I need more bite than the stock 245/45 can provide. I read somewhere that if I choose to run a 275 that I would have to roll the lip on each fender to ensure it wouldn't rub. Is this true?

I just want to know if it's possible to run a 275/40 on a 17x9 rim.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. )

Gary
