Blue box behind a/c controls?

What is the blue box that sits behind the a/c controls? How do you unhook it from the dash to move it? I was going to install my radio in the top and move the a/c controls down and saw the box which would prevent the radio from going into the dash. Thanks.

that blue box is for the Air Bag. If you try to move it or unplug it, just disconnect the battery just in case you set the airbags.

Nice, its a good thing I didn't push/pull he box too hard. It doesn't come loose that easy. Any suggestions?

If I recall correctly it has 2 metal flat tabs in the bottom. I dont recall if a flat screwdriver was used to remove it or if i just pulled it. Sorry I cant recall, hopefully someone do and can answer.

For anyones future reference while searching: the blue box is held by a bracket that is bolted down with two screws. Pretty easy to disconnect when you have a bright light to look at it.

I unbolted the box and can move it around now. Does it need to be hard mounted or can it be pushed back and have some free movement? Does it need to be flat or can it be installed at an angle? Thanks.
