setting TPS


Hi All... I was adjusting the TPS to 0.98 but couldnt go any higher then 0.86. i been trying all morning but to to no success can leave it there or is there another way to get 0.98 and my idle is at 1200 RPM is that normal or to high

That's high. Are you sure you're doing it correctly? Why can't you get past .86V? Do you not have the space to move it anymore or what?

well you have to drill out the screw holes to get it to move more BUT wait for some of the other guys get on they will explain to you why setting your TPS doesnt matter

Yeah, you don't have to be at .98 or whatever you read, but it will make a difference in throttle response. I'm too retarded to remember the exact the numbers, but as long you register the correct values for part and wide open throttle, you're ok.

i got the tps at 0.98 now i drilled the holes wider but cant get it to lower the idle it stays @1200 rpm i unscrew the screw in back of the throttle body i got it as far as it goes if i unplug the Idle Air Bypass it goes to 800 rpm (the IAB is new)

i put this question in a different post dont think it will get seen soo im gonna beat a dead horse here and ask. do i put one lead in one wire and the other lead in the other wire from my digital multimeter?? im also guessing set dial on low low dc voltage?? im slow work with me here. lol thanks take care.
