I have a 460 in a 83 GT. I am only making around 450 RWHP, haven't had it dynoed yet, and I am running 10.08 through the quarter. I have lightened my car a lot though. If this gives you some idea of the power of a big block in a fox.

well this has all gotten me in to big block mood..i was think, i have a buddy thats got an 91 notch, that he wants 1200 for it..and it already got fill suspension, 8pnt roll cage, and a well built 302, but if i sell that 302 and build up a 460 that i have in a junk 90 F250 at a friends shop..how much hp will i be pushing if i throw down these mods..

460 block
aluminum heads
custom cam
torker intake
holley 700-800cfm carb
1.7 rr
full exhuast..

how much hp..and 1/4's..i think that kinda project would be rlly fun..

stock engine with a blow through carb and supercharger. it is a 83 model 460. the car has a good suspension and is lightened to around 2900 lbs. which is completely stripped of all none nessecities, aluminum driveshaft, new k member and front suspension, and a well built c-6 with a reverse pattern manual valve body.

not really sure, haven't messed with the small blocks much in a fox as far as drag racing goes. I would guess low 13's hi twelves. but remember this is just a guess.

I mostly build big blocks for drag racing. I have only built small blocks for engine swaps, like the mustang 5.0 HO in my s10.

well like i said it was just a guess. I have never messed with small block foxes for drag racing, but I had a road race stang that would only run 13.5's. but it was set up to carve some hellacious corners.

all depends how each of you put your power down. I for one, could only spin to a 1.79 60' with a STOCK motor car on SLICKS, yet other people can hook high hp cars on stock susp.

no i was reading the old magazine right up on 5.0's vs. Z28's and it said something like:

LX ran like 14.24 or something
GT ran like 14.86 or something like that

Z28- 305 ran like 16.33
Z28- 350 ran like 15.69

thats with the writers behind the wheel of a completly stock car..
