I have a 460 in a 83 GT. I am only making around 450 RWHP, haven't had it dynoed yet, and I am running 10.08 through the quarter. I have lightened my car a lot though. If this gives you some idea of the power of a big block in a fox.

yeah, but I would guess that it should at least run mid to high 12's

well this has all gotten me in to big block mood..i was think, i have a buddy thats got an 91 notch, that he wants 1200 for it..and it already got fill suspension, 8pnt roll cage, and a well built 302, but if i sell that 302 and build up a 460 that i have in a junk 90 F250 at a friends shop..how much hp will i be pushing if i throw down these mods..

460 block
aluminum heads
custom cam
torker intake
holley 700-800cfm carb
1.7 rr
full exhuast..

how much hp..and 1/4's..i think that kinda project would be rlly fun..

stock engine with a blow through carb and supercharger. it is a 83 model 460. the car has a good suspension and is lightened to around 2900 lbs. which is completely stripped of all none nessecities, aluminum driveshaft, new k member and front suspension, and a well built c-6 with a reverse pattern manual valve body.

if set up good you could be into the high 10's

another thing..what 1/4 mile times do you think my set-up will run..i have also changed front GT to LX, so lost fog light bracket, rear bumper support, front bumper support, added fiberglass hood and spoiler..so lightend bout 200-300lbs...

not really sure, haven't messed with the small blocks much in a fox as far as drag racing goes. I would guess low 13's hi twelves. but remember this is just a guess.

I mostly build big blocks for drag racing. I have only built small blocks for engine swaps, like the mustang 5.0 HO in my s10.

only thing is, is that friends 92 hatch, with just CAI, shortys, no cats, flowmasters, 4:10s with stock AOD ran 13.01

well like i said it was just a guess. I have never messed with small block foxes for drag racing, but I had a road race stang that would only run 13.5's. but it was set up to carve some hellacious corners.

all depends how each of you put your power down. I for one, could only spin to a 1.79 60' with a STOCK motor car on SLICKS, yet other people can hook high hp cars on stock susp.

no i was reading the old magazine right up on 5.0's vs. Z28's and it said something like:

LX ran like 14.24 or something
GT ran like 14.86 or something like that

Z28- 305 ran like 16.33
Z28- 350 ran like 15.69

thats with the writers behind the wheel of a completly stock car..
