The big block will win by a large margine. It is 450+ horsepower compared to your roughly 275 or so horsepower. His car if set up correctly will run high 10s all day long. At 3100 pounds and 450hp the formula says it will run 10.93 at 124mph. A friend of mine has a damn near stock 460 that just had a mild cam and with an Edelbrock intake and 850 Holley that runs 11.70s in a fox body.

he wont hook up at all stock suspension in a car never meant to have a big block he will just sit there and roast the tires, where you on the other hand should hook up nicely

The mid 70s and up lower hp rated BBFs, are still BBFs. All you need to make power from them is heads intake and a cam, even small spec. mods in those areas equal huge gains on the BBF. Never mind the HP rating for his motor, take a gander at the production TQ numbers. Your cars RWHP I am guessing 230-250.

That is a totally false statement. Mustangs have one of the best suspensions from the factory for drag racing. The modifications you do to hook a small block work with a big block. Put a good tire on it and it will hook.

A stock Mustang only has about 40 HP drive train loss total, if you eliminated it all and actually added some negative loss, you are very good

well..his motor was out of a truck the same age as one me and my dad turned into a off roader, but it had no balls in that truck, and those truck motors are week, its an 89 460 that had like 165k miles on it before being bored out...and 275hp from the factory seams over rated for a truck of those years...

OK then if you think im toast, whats 1, i mean 1 thing that may even the playing field...nitrous, those trick flow heads, or what???

the miles on that motor dont really matter since it was rebuilt, its just a well seasoned block. and like they said above it doesnt take much to make power out of those big motors. i would add nitrous, that willgive you a lot more power for a good price

well not that this helps at all but i just turned down a fox body with 460 in it ran good and had to have exhaust and had automatic, but i drove it and even with aftermarket intake and carb and headers, mine felt better and seemed more drivable. but is only my opinion. take care.

Yeah thats because the stock heads cam intake ect suck ass. As far as over rated hp. Just by the sheer size of the motor its hard to get less than that..

150 shot isn't going to do much to a 460 man..

460s sneeze at 150hp of nitrous. He really has to mess things up with the nitrous kit to blow the motor up with that small amount of nitrous.
