smog pump into supercharger?
Albeit the boost would be small, wouldn't it work at least a little more than to compensate for the draw on the belt? I was thinking of taking off the equipment hooked up to the smog pump while waiting for my pump eliminator pulley to arrive. Then i was thinking that a smog pump blows air into the exhaust to "make" cleaner exhaust right? Couldnt i use that forced air to improve intake flow? I havent done it yet but i was going to hook the smog pump out line into my air box(of course on the intake side of the filter so it gets filtered).Ya think it'll work and be beneficial? I'm gonna try it and see, it cant hurt anything from what i can tell just not work.I'll let yall know if works or not

it would hurt more than help...it could only help if the smog pump could blow harder and flow faster than the stock air your motor is pulling in....kinda like the electric superchargers on ebay...a waste of time...you have to get above the stock CFM of air flow before you increase your PSI

Possible Crankcase Evacuator
Granted the Smog Pump does the same thing as a Supercharger in that it moves air. But I would say more heat is generated for the amount of air that is moved compared to a supercharger or turbocharger. I would also agree that those supposedly "electric superchargers" are just over rated hair dryers. Don't get me wrong I have tried all of this - , electric fans, homemade ram-air, minimal accesories (I mean is a water pump really critical?) Not when your serpintine belt breaks in -20 degree weather but that Alternator is helpful. Considering how much time you want to spend fabricating you could buy a supercharger, Reverse Engineer it Chinese style and return it for the refund then create a killer air compressor out of a Smog Pump. I seriously doubt the bearings will hold up or the impeller will move any air though. I figure when you buy a Name Brand Supercharger you are really only buying the Brand Name, some NASA Bearings, and an Impeller, everything else is just extra weight. Trust me the urge has hit me a few times to take a sawzall to my yanked Smog Pump. Not really to make a supercharger but to see if it could be replumbed to make a crankcase evacuator, but as far a strictly balls out racing (not Smog Nazi friendly) I would say some check valves plumbed to the exhaust would work just as good, but less weight.
