quad shocks


ok newbie question again. what are the advantages and disadvantages of the quad shocks, im thinking im in need of replacement, do i need to replace all 4 or the just the two normal ones and why? opinions? facts? thanks ahead of time. take care.

you only have 2 quad shocks.

they were Fords poor attempt to reduce wheel hop.

if you get a nice set of upper and lower control arms you can just take the quad shocks off your car all together.

didnt they put quad shocks on the old muscle cars to make them handle better?

but i have 4 shocks all together correct two up and down and two front to back right??

The two horizontal shocks are quad shocks and you dont need them. the other two are just shocks and a good pair of them will help wheel hop

cooooool coooooool i didnt see any use when i pulled the wheels and noticed not much use. thanks for the help they are coming off im putting adjustables on there. take care.

Don't need the quad shocks? Technically no but you might want to test your traction and wheel hop after you take them off, you may find out they were serving a real purpose. If you don't notice a difference, then your quad shocks were junk anyway. Quad shocks are not a perfect solution for reducing wheel hop on a Mustang but a good working pair is far better then not having any installed at all.

i have good upper and lower control arms poly bushings and have an anti roll bar on its way. so if i just leave them on the car they wont hurt or hinder anything will they?? just trying to do what ever is needed for my mustang to perform up to and beyond its potential, thats why i ask. thanks again for all the help.

I took mine off three years ago and haven't had any problem with wheel hop.

I hear a good time to remove the quad shocks is when you have some subframes and control arms.
