Need help with buying stang

Well i have about 7000 to spend. i have found several 94-95 verts i could grab for 3000-3500 in good cond. But is it worth the extra money to go with a mod motor stang? My rough plans for the car are high 300's in hp and then minor suspension and brakes just to make it a better all around car. Also what do you guys think of the KB Blowzilla on the sn95 5.0? 3100 for a whole kit sounds pretty nice to me.

If you want to get 300+ horsepower cheaper go with an 89-93 5.0 fox stay away from the mod motors from the years of 96-98 if you want a mod motor go with a 99-08.

yeaa dude go with a 87-93 5.0...if you could find an 87 or 88 that would be better seeing that those applications were the best of that era..they were rated at 225hp and 300 ft/lbs of torque. you can either find one with very little miles on it or get one with high miles for cheap and rebuild the motor. then you will have more to work with..lets say you buy an 87 or 88 for 3000. youll have 4 grand left. you can take the motor apart and get some fresh machine work on the block, heads, and intakes. that will run you less than a grand. search around for a ncie stroker kit and install that, then get the right pistons for the bore, liek if you want a 347 stroker youll need a bore of .060 ya get what im saying. then all the gaskets and all the other bs to complete the rebuild. im not sure of what that will run you but your budget will def cover it. if you want you can also go with the exploer upper lower intake manifold and heads and get those ported or keep them stock they are already better than stock 87-93 applications, and save money on the machine work. you can find those cheap at a junk yard. for suspension you can get some traction bars in the rear, and get a suspension kit for the front. like the k member and al lthat bs control arms. search jegs and summit for nice packages or stangsuspension.com. im pretty sure your budget will cover this and then you can take your gf out to eat..lol

The reason I went with 89-94 was that tey went to mass air in 89 and if you got an 86-88 you would have to convert to mass air

To build a 347 you want a bore of .030 a stroke of 3.4 inches and you will need to notch the cylinder skirts .065 for the large stroke of the crank.
