t-5 tranny fluid filling

ok im sure this has been answered but i didnt see it soooo. newbie question of the day is. how the heck do i fill my tranny?? i see the drain hole and i see the fill hole but how do i get fluid up and into the hole without losing most of it? what is the trick to this. id like to have my car up and running sooon. i was at least smart enough to not drain it before i tried to see if i could get fluid up to it. can i snake a hose down to the fill hole through the tranny shifter hole? if so i do i remove the plastic cover to get in there without breaking anything? thank you again and again. take care.

Don't mean to sound like a jackass.. But since I was recently in the same situation with my t-5.. I went to jiffy rack... you know the places.. they checked my fluid, it was fine didn't need any so they didn't charge me a thing.. if they do need to put any in it will still be cheaper than you or me going and buying the pump and our time spent on our backs under the damned car...

my .02 cents

Fluid pump I worked at a dealership and I used theres to fill mine up. The fluid comes from a 55 gallon drum. But just like 86ttops said just buy a cheap one. Because you right you wont be able to get the bottle in there.

heres what i do. take the fill plug off and put a funnel into it. have the top of the funnel go through the engine compartment. you will need a semi long one. place the bottom end of the funnel into the hole and start pouring the tranny fluid into the top slowly. thats what i do.

Sory mine is more like a grease gun you stick the hose in the jug and suck it out and then push it in too the tranny its metal and old you know they dont make things like they used too

I use 5ft of 3/8 vacume line under the hood straight to the fill plug & put a gear oil cap on the trans fluid bottle. when it starts to leak out it's full. cost4 $4 for the vacume line.just my 2 cents
