Coil Over Springs

A friend had installed a set of Coil-overs on his 69 charger, they rubbed on the tires, so they were ditched for a set of gas shocks.
I am going to go take a look at the coil-overs tomorrow morning and see if they could be used on my 93 5.0, however i am very ignorant of coil-over setups.
Is there any way to tell what # the springs are rated at? could someone possibly give dimensions of the components needed to do the conversion in a mustang? What all is involved in the conversion itself?
Any help is greatly appreciated, Thanks!

They were installed on the back of the charger, would rather have them on the front. I'm thinking the springs are going to be too heavy, a charger is a big car

Sounds like you are talking about shocks with helper springs and not coil overs.

I picked them up today, overall shock length is 24" spring length is 13". Looks like someone had "modified" them to fit the charger as well. doesn't look like the shocks are going to work. The springs are aged, but salvageable. I think it would be possible to convert the front struts to coil-overs, provided the spring # is correct.

yup, just a did a little research on them, basically a cheap way of jacking up the rear end for that muscular look back in the 60's and 70's. They just might find their way onto my 70 skylark.
Looking at some of the sleeve type coilover "conversion kits" online, I think it could work, but wouldn't be worth it. the springs are too aged to get any performance out of, and I would need to come up with a system for adjustment.
