Correct me if Im wrong, but I think most, if not all GTs were hatchbacks as well....

I have seen LX hatches, but I never saw a GT coupe....

Im no expert but Ive never seen a GT that was a coupe, unless it was built that way aftermarket (like mine will be). Thats kindof why I chose to do mine that way.

A related question:

Is a "notchback" the same as a coupe?

Like said a 5.0 is just a Mustang with a 5.0, wether its a Gt or LX it still says 5.0 on the side. Gt comes in hatchback only, and LX comes in Hatch or Coupe. All 5.0's have the same motor, LX or Gt. Gt has ugly taillights, body kit, sporty seats, and different wheels. LX hatch is about 50 lbs lighter than a Gt, and a notch is about 50 or so lbs lighter than a LX hatch.

The body kits are pretty much interchangeable. Yes the notch and hatch are different in the sense that one has a trunk and the other has a hatch. Other than that they are pretty much the same. The notch only came in LX. In order to get the Gt look you had to put the body kit on yourself.

To summarize..

Body Style:
Hatchback - GT or LX
Notchback (trunk)- LX only
Convertible - GT or LX

Engine:
LX - 5.0 or 2.3
GT - 5.0 only

5.0 specific:
The 5.0 version of the LX and GT were 100% identical engine, suspension, brakes, and interior wise with the exceptions noted below:

- Exterior flexible body moldings pieces (or "ground effects"). LX did not have them, the GT did, the LX had a grill in the nose above the bumper, the GT did not.
- Rims
All 91-93 5.0's had the 16in 5 spoke pony wheels (the special service LX model may have had a 10 hole as an option, not sure)
87-90 GT had the 15 in turbine wheels, the LX had the 15in 10 holes (with the exception of the special edition 1990 "7-UP" LX convertible that had the turbine wheels)
- Exhaust - LX had polished SS tips, GT had SS turn downs

I am a little hazy on the t-tops and sunroof option differences between the GT and LX 5.0.

Does all of this sound correct?
