engine wiring harness and ecu help


i have 87 mustang GT that was a 4cyl and when i bought it the guy put in a 86 5L motor. woundering what years i cant use a ecu and the engine wiring harness. does it have to be a 87 5L or can it be a 88, 89, 90, 91, 92, 93. im looking to buy a ECU and engine Wiring Harness as a pair so just seeing if i can us them from other years?

86-88 for the speed density. 89-93 for a mass air.

In 87 it was a option for mass air so i would watch for one of those too you really whant mass air I picked up a a9l and mass air wiring fro my 86 for $100 but they are like $500 through summit as far as a comp you need manual or automatic as well http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/88-93...spagenameZWDVW

Here is a wiring harness on ebay and i would check crags list as well

Mass air was not an option in 87 !And the only way you could get it in 88 was with a california car,and you probably wont find one. The mass air harness i bought from summit was made by ford racing and was like 710.00

If it is a stick shift, I would agree with you can use a stick or auto computer, but if it is an auto, get an auto computer. The auto computer will keep the car from stalling when sitting at a red light in drive.
