will a stock comp suport a 393 stroker??????????

I decided to build a new motor i am thinking of going with a 351w stroked to 393 using ford parts with set of gt 40 iron lightning heads with the bigger chamber if i can find them. If not they will be the smaller chamber and my gt 40 lower and tubular upper. With a 75 mm mass air and 30# injectors. Do you think i can get by with my a9l comp if so does it need reprogramed and can i do it my self with a laptop or something. Will my fuel pmp and regulator be ok? Is there anything that i left out that you guys can think of.

Those heads are the wrong choice for that big of an engine. Way too small of a head. The stock computer will work just fine. No need to do any programming or anything else.

Thanks darrel Which heads would you sugest ? I am trying to stay with iron heads ihave gt40 the smaller ones now on my 302 havent herd a hole lot of good things about aluminum heads and any power adders and want to do it cheap but don't want to do it twice. Maybe some day a turbo. I am loosly basing this on a crate motor i herd about that ford had out. I cant remember what crank and rods it was but stock 302 pistions if anyone noes of a site that has this build up please post it. The car is not a dd but would like to be able to drive it out of town if need be.

I'm not sure what you've heard about aluminum heads and power adders but what you heard probably isn't true. Everyone runs aluminum heads. The crank you will need is a 3.85 stroke. With 302 pistons you can run the stock 351W rods. You will need a 185cc or larger head depending on what you want to do. I'm assuming you aren't looking for anything too radical so I'm sure a 185cc head will do the trick for you.

Ya not doing to much looking for a good base.Just don't want to be out done by all the ricers around here. I love the sound of a stroked 302 I think this stroked 351 will give me goose bumps .I should be able to run 3" exhust with flowmasters no problem on a nearly 400 inch motor right. What about a set of eldbrock victor jr heads? 210cc or what would you do and will the gt40 intake work? Is there a way to figure your compression?

A GT40 intake would work, as long as you don't plan on making power above 5500 rpms. If you have TMOSS port the lower it will help quite a bit, but still a big inch stroker 351 will benefit from higher flowing intake. For the money I'd go with the TFS 351 intake. Victor Jrs are a good head out of the box for what you are considering, but might be a litte lazy down low on the street, but shit my 275 cc heads still work great on the street.

What the hell kind of heads do you have with a 275cc intake runner? Must be heavily ported Glidden's or Neals?
