I may regret this (4 eyed notch inside)

I just paid $800 for this beautiful bucket. Maybe we can make it run.
1985, 302, carburetor, T-5

Motor is in great shape, but this tranny is on it's way out. How much am I looking at for another T5 or what other options do I have?

And if you plan on doing anything else to the car performance wise, i would go ahead and invest in a better transmission.

Considering what you paid, you will still be ahead if you buy a good used Tremec.

Actually, I've been wanting a notch for a while. I was already planning on getting the GT ground effects off. I'm not really sure what I'm going to do with the car yet. I just thought it was a decent deal and picked it up. I'm thinking I might sell the 302 and the T5 so I can cram a 460 in there with a C4 or C6 to back it up.
