I will tear into it later on when it cools down and I ACTUALLY NEED to use the heater. For a temp fix I just connected the two hoses together using some pipe fittings.
In doing so I noticed the larger hose had a metal flow reducer in it. I thought only the SSP cars came with it. I cleaned it up as it had some rust on it and pitting. The rubber ring inside it is all cracked and looks like it could fall apart any minute. Should I reuse the reducer when I r & r the heater core? Can I just take the rubber ring out and not worry about it? |

You MUST use it. Otherwise it will blow up the new heater core soon and you will hear the water whistling when you drive. |
