Backfire trace & fix

I'm an old carb guy with a '92 5.0 efi. Stock, converted from T5 to AOD, no A/C, no PS/PB, electric fan, emission controls disabled. Engine idles @ ~900rpm.
All exhaust gaskets and bolts new and tightened to torque specs. O2 sensors new. Distributor rotor intact, clean as are the contacts.
I need a strategy to find the problem and get this fixed.
Idles with no BF most times, but occ BF out right side only. As RPM's increased in driveway, in Neutral, again, may BF but usually does not. Can raise RPM's to 3000 but multiple BF if accelerator released suddenly, not if RPM's decreased slowly.
On the street, BF regularly @1000-1200 RPM's. Never been above 1200 on the street.
I need some help, please.

Stock injectors? What's your timing set at? Any exhaust leaks? Don't suppose you'd happen to know your a/f ratio's would ya? Car throwing any codes?

Engine, including injectors, is stock. Timing at 10 degrees. A/F ratio not known. Exhaust leaks not an issue after I tightened all connections over new gaskets. Codes not done yet.
Is there a strategy to work out the most common causes, or are you asking questions for a reason?

Well, it's gonna be backfiring for a reason. Just trying to check the cause. If it's backfiring at such a low rpm, something definately is wrong....duh. It's only doing it on the right bank though correct? I'd definately pull the codes.

You say the emissions are disabled. Did you do this yourself? And if so, did it start giving you problems shortly thereafter? Have you pulled your plugs to see what they look like? Gap?

Codes KOEO are 67, 81, 82.
Plugs are new and gapped. Emissions system removed by me. Did not BF when build started.
Thanks for your good questions.

Incase you don't know what those codes are, here ya go....

67 - Park Neutral Position Switch Circuit Open; A/C On -Manual (O), Manual Lever Position Sensor Out Of Range/A/C On (CM,O), Clutch Switch Circuit Failure (CM)
81 - Secondary Air Diverter Circuit Failure (O)
82 - Secondary Air Bypass Circuit Failure (O)

Now just have to figure out what those mean.

Yeah, thinkin that or something to do with the distributor or timing. I'd almost bet my life on it after all the problems I've had here lately.
