Mustang drag racers help
mustang people help
Hello, I am sorry if I am asking questions, that I could just look up, I have been and just dont find a good answer. Okay I am going to purchase a fox-body lx mustang very for a good price. I want to swap in a 351windsor, im new to this so please bear with me.Going from sport compact racing is totally different to what im trying to do now.Okay This build-up is going to be a budget build-up and get me where I want to go, I want to go carburated power and no computers.I would like to know what are the best carburators out there for drag racing, and this car is going to be street driven for alot of kills out here.Anyways 351 windsor with 351 cleveland 4v cleveland heads, and a scat stroker kit, which would bump it up to I think a 377, tranny wise Im confused but dont want to spend thousands of dollars on one, remember budget build up.Intake manifold dont know and im looking into some stahl headers if they even fit. Please help me I am so confused and dont know what to do, Im new to this v8 stuff and I know there is some fast mustangs with the almost same set-up I have and are running low 10's or 9's.How about rear-end should I switch ring and pinion or just buy a complete rear end for drag racing. I seen one that was priced at 1,200 used.Anyways please give me feedback, o please dont forget about camshafts, who are the best? and what will get me down the quickest and fastest when these snobby little rich boys pull up to me.Thank you again and God Bless

Use a holley carb and build a ford 9 inch.As for the stroker i would build a 408 w and use a good set of alum heads, then put a 150 shot on it.

okay, so holley carb it is.What would you say about the Holley 4500 dominator series carb? And no nitrous, that to me is just cheating.I want to run what I brung. And then show I did it with all n/a power.Would a Doug Nash 4 speed tranny fit to the windsor block, I seen one for 1,300 but it said it was for a chevy.

You can build a 393 stroker cheaper buy using stock 351 rods stock 302 pistons and a 3.85 crank and no clearnce problems but if you have to buy everything 408 or even 427 probble not to streetable will not be much moreand you will have to from what i have reserched grind the cam tunnel and the oil pump housing on the 427 and run a smaller cam on the 408 somegrinding required not as bad but you will have to grind the iol pump housing down still I would run a holley carb
