Spark plug gap Vortech S-trim 10- 12 psi

I have a 1993 lx with a Vortech s-trim making 10 to 12 psi.
Could one of you guys recommend a gap? I'm using motorcraft
plugs. From what I read on past post on this form it probably going to be .035 but the spark plugs I pulled out of my car are gap at .045. I read the Vortech manual and it said to gap according to manufacture specs. which is .054. I 'm already detonating a little and plugs are peppered,so now I really confused.

Thanks

Manufacture specs may be fine for 6psi... but not for 12. Won't cause detonation though from what I understand, only spark blowout. You need a colder plug if that's the case... at least 1 (probably 2) colder than stock. I'd run .035 unless you've got an MSD or some other boosted spark... then maybe push it to .045

There's a good chance your gap started out at .035 and as they wore the gap increased.

Your right about the gap wear.
I compared the old electrode to a new one.

Thanks
