I believe the P's are a tiny bit better, but i doubt you could tell the difference between those two heads...

The main question you have to ask yourself is what headers you are going to be running...The P heads dont accept some headers because of the spark plug angle...But i believe most long tubes will fit them...

I personally like my ported gt40 iron heads.

i went with gt-40p's because i couldnt afford to port them. slightly better flow than stock gt-40s. and they are easy to find. but if you can afford to port them or know how to go with gt-40 and save the hassle of the exhaust issues

From scratch eh? Then why consider gt40p heads? Is this a budget build? What does the rest of the build consist of?

Don't waste your time with GT40 heads on an engine with that many cubic inches. It will be out of breath by 5000 rpm. You need a bigger head.
