Best way to sell a non street legal car

I have an 86 gt that's in full roadrace trim and I have not had much luck selling it as is.

It needs a trans, which I have, but need a bellhousing. Im thinking i may have better luck if it was drivable, but probably not much better.

Do you all think Id be better off parting the car out? Worst case is Im left with the body/cage. Id probably cut out the cage and torch the car into smaller bits and take it to the scrap yard.

I really hate to do that to this car though (rust free GT!)

The other option I had come up with is find a blown up 4cyl and put all my stuff into that body and either drive it, or sell it like that.

Thoughts?

Make it driveable. You'll get a lot more interest in a car that people can at least take for a test drive.

Its tough to get a feel for how the car handles with a quick ride around the neighborhood. It would attract attention quickly (no lights or interior-loud)

For a while, it was a buy it and drive it affair, but still no interest then. It was f/s for a while before I decided to trade the T5 for the toploader.

here's an older, pre cage and suspension development pic-
