Low compression and low Octane?

I think my motor is built having low compression. There was a blower on the car which I removed for many reasons. Anyway since I removed it I can run 18 degrees BTC with out pinging, even it 5th up a hill. But I'm still running one degree lower plug and 93 octane. The question hopefully you guy can help me with is.... Should I run 87 (regular) and get hotter plugs untill it pings. Would this be like getting more compression out of my motor?

changing your fuel will not change your compression...its only about efficiency to fuel burning

from what i understand, use the lowest octane you can without pinging. anything higher is a waste of money and less efficient...

exactly. Put the stock heat range plugs back in it and bring the timing down to 10* and run 87... or put the timing wherever you want and start dropping the octane as low as you can.

lower in types of gas will be harder on the motor as if not always detination will ocurr and will shorten the life of the engine. How ever you can run lower end gas and just throw so boosters in on fill up(most say 3 point min but I would dubble up on them to get the min)
