Ok i just put a set of gt40p heads comp cam 512lift. I have crane arms pedistal mount rockre arms. I stater the car up and it is popping trought the intake tube/ The timing is at 15. Now do i have to shime the rocker arms if the are pedistal mount or i should not have to.

Are you running premium fuel since the timing is so high and I wouldnt set the timing that high only about up to 14

I had to shim mine...I never could get them right, so i just put the stock rockers back on.

I would personally get the timing down some and see what it does.

sounds like a possible backfire or a firing order problem. Check what plug wires go where and recheck it all.

i might be way off track here but if your talking about the shims for the roller rockers......you have to hand turn the engine till the pushrods are even at thier lowest point on one cylinder, hand tighten the stud....then torque the rockers to 18-20 lbs. within a 1/4 turn and a full turn...if they dont torque within that you need a shim until it does torque.....then repeat with all cylinders.....and sorry if im way off on what you were talking about

yea my buddy told me to torque them to 25lbs and it should not go no more then 1/2 turn till 1 full turn.
