Few questions b4 i shoot 100shot on my stock 302 carburated.

Basically what should do/adjust/buy before shooting 100shot on my 302ci?

i got a nos powershot kit.

My set up is MSD 6A, Distributor, and coil, Dual 2 1/2 piping straight back to flowmasters, edelbrock performer intake mani, Holley 650cfm, sub frame connectors welded, 8.8 rear posi, 3.73 gear, holley electric inline fuel pump, adjustable fpr, stock everything else.

1. Should i get colder plugs? If so which ones?

2. What should i set my timing to? right now its at 14 advance.

3. Should i install a spearco water injection kit i was giving? If so run water or alcohol?

All opinions, advice, and tips are appreciated.

If you want to be safe, retard 2* per 50 horsepower added. However, I know on the EFI cars, the real racers won't even bother to take out timing unless it's more than 100. Wait for someone with some carb experience to back that up though.

1) autolight 24s gapped at 0.035-0.040

2)You should set you total timing at about 34 degrees. With a carb and no computer control, it doesn't really make sense to set your base timing.

3) NO

What is the compression ratio? If it is 9.5:1 or less fill it up with 93 octane and leave the timing where its at. No need for colder plugs with a 100hp tune up. No water injection.

How do you know what his total timing is, it isn't an EFI car...15 degrees base is meaningless. He needs to set his total timing appropriately or he'll be replacing head gaskets in no time.

You use a timing light and adjust it on the distributor

I know how to set total timing, I was building motors while you were still sucking on your mommy's teet. I was asking Darrel how he knew what someone else's total timing was!

My mommy taught me to think for myself and always question the source of information. For example, I wouldn't blindly take tips from someone that doesn't build or tune themselves.
