stroker?

i was planning on building my 302 into one mean street machine. i have thought about a stroker kit but not too sure which to go with. would the 306, 331, or the 347 do better with nitrous? i was also looking at a Trick Flow top end kit. would this combo work with the stroker?

I would go with a 347 stroker kit with a 5.315 rods, they are located farther away from the oil ring and wrist pin.The trick flow top end kit should work pretty good and make some nice power. You can you nitrous on any of these motors if you use it right,i would do a 75 -100shot.

WITH A 100 SHOT YOU WILL PROBABLY SEE 480 FLYWHEEL HP +OR MINUS 10-15.I would not exceed this limit b/c of the stock block.

I tthink turbo lx had a 347 stroker with the trick flow kit that made 410 to the flywheel.like i said it could be a littl more than 380 just an estimate it prolly is more like 400 +

yeah 400 to the flywheels great for me...i drive mine back and forth the high school every day..i dont need to make the 1/4 mile trip in 8 or 9 seconds..

and that would be roughly 375rwhp w/ my 5spd..not bad for daily car to school..

hey jordan how old are you?? arent you like 25...still in high school...damn..

just playing...yeah well i want and need to be ontop..family tradition to have fastest car at school..but luckily my only competition is an 67 firebird w/ a basic modded 350..87 LX w/ exhuast, 86 GT w/ cowl hood..and an 91 LX w/ 306 w/ 240hp..so im pretty sure im ontop as is..but w/ the 347 stroker...they all can just watch from a distance..no touch..

306 is just a 302 boared 30 over isnt it I would go with a 331 I heard that the 347 is for more of the track and is not as streetable as the 331. That is why I am leaning toward the 331.

Jordan convince me why I should go with a 347 instead I know you now what you talking about buddy because im open to suggestions

A 347 has a bad name b/c the ones with the 5.4 inch rod tend to burn oil after a while b/c where the wrist pin is located near the oil ring, now the ones with a 5.315 rod>>>the wrist pins are moved out of the oil ring.347's have a bad rep and theres nothing wrong with the 347 for streetability, its the same thing as a 331(it just displaces more cubes),people just tend to say its not as street worthy.

Yeah, when the first ones came out they did have problems. But the kits have been out for years now and they due not suffer from the old problems.

the only thing different you have to do with a 347 is notch the cylinder walls .065 b/c of the stroke of the crank but that might cost 50 bux
