my 87 gt has a t-5 in it now and it is giving me a whole mess of problems. i will probably go with an auto because the car is to be built mainly for drag racing and an occasional drive into town. i need to know what tranny to go with because i dont know what year or model will fit. i need a tranny that will withstand some power because i will soon be building the motor.

build a c4 or buy a tremec 5 speed for 2000

eehhhhh!!!!I would not use anything but a tremec,a built glide or a built c4 for performance

eh men...dude why would you use you're grandmothers crown vics transmission in you're drag car..maybe i'll hook my grandmother oxygen tank upto my mustang and act like its NOS..
