Shift Kit ??'s
With in the next few weeks I am going to have my 4.10's installed and the rear bearings replaced. So thing I am wanting to flush my AODE and put new tranny fluid in her so I thought might as well do a shift kit. I am Looking and the TransGo kits right now and there seems to be to different kits. The AODE PSK Automatic ; and the AODE-S PSK Stick Shift. the Auto one still uses auto shifting and the stick shift one if I am reading right makes it like the tranny has a manual vavle body. Anyone know anything on how the stick shift one works and how the shifting sequence works... even if it works with a stock shifter
. I guess you just go in 1st then 2nd and drive but that brings you to 3rd gear how do you shift for 4th? I want the one that gives me the most Killer Full Race feel "AS they say." But before I buy I am just checking with you all so I dont make a mistake. Tim

well i know the shifter for mine (AOD) is 1, D, OD....if you manually shift. you put it in 1, then when you shift to second, you have to put it up in D and when the gear grabs, put it back into 1 (that is now second) then when shifting to third you put it into D and fourth OD...
With a shift kit though, unless it is a full manual, you should just be able to put it in D and let it bang through the gears. I have a transgo HP kit for my AOD...Be ready for some fun with yours.

Does it make a huge Diff... I heard it chirps tires and everything. I think paired with the 4.10 install i am gunna be happy for a little while until i have the money to move to the engine area. I think I am going to go with the Auto one. Did you do the full out race option? Thats the one I want to go with.

I believe the HP kit is the best Transgo has...you might want to consider Baumman (spelling) as well....they have great kits from what i hear...
Mine unfortunately isnt installed yet...I am waiting to get a bigger stall... In my opinion...you should get a stall too... But yes, it makes a world of difference...and they are better for your transmission..instead of the slow shifts, it shift fast into gear, which prevents alot of wear and tear on the transmission.

thats the only way i'd ever drive a auto mustang..i had one in my 89 F250 w/ 460ci C6 and in low range could churp 1,2, and into drive...was funny as shit..also was wicked fun to drive around with..rlly a neck snapper..set it on race mode for really nice firm shifts..
