is that a stock mass air with 42lb injectors?are they calibrated? that might be a little overkill along with your intake problem.

It would indeed be overkill with a stock Mass air and would cause serious problems. I have the stock 19lbers in it right now. I just had the fuel rail on the side because i bought that SN95 rail with 42's in it because i bought a Blower as well.

ok this sounds very similar to my problems, try checking the lower intake gaskets and make sure they didnt slip while putting the lower on, with the no power up top, i would up the fuel pump, size pending on future plans, then up the fuel pressure. with the pressure too low the injectors just sputter and kinda just piss out fuel which cause power to come in surges rather then constant, with more pressure the fuel flows fast and evenly meaning the same power all the way through.

Well i thought maybe it slipped. But i looked at the front and back of both sides and the gasket is up flush on all sides. So i dont think it slipped. But if i get too mad with all of this i will remove it all and put my heads and cam on and start back from scratch. I have a F-cam and Fordracing X heads with 1.7's

If you have an opinion about either cams please let me know. But i also have a vortech v2-sq im installing as well. Its in my basement. I bought an entire setup from a good friend. Trickflow, regulator, 42lbers, f-cam, and x-heads. He got good gains and i have talked to alot of people and they say the f works very well with blower applications. I know a buddy with only rebuilt motor and exhaust, with a f-cam and love the way it idles. So do i know ALOT about either cams, nope. Im a 4.6 guy comming back to the 5.0's. It sucks going from a section moderator in here to a newb to the 5.0 section. So anything you need to offer, please do.

Thanks

well i've use both along with the b and the x...and it my opinion..the f is the best...i thought the x sucked..had not low end power until like 3500...the b was great with power low and mid, but kinda sluggish up top...the e-cam in my mind was 2nd worst..great low end...and fell off from there..but the fcam has power all over the place...thats why i stuck with it..also it was probably the best in tq from like 1800-4500..rlly pulls..

Well thats good to know and i will agree with you know that someone else said it. The e cam i drove a 93 notch before i boght this 93 hatch and it had trickflow trackheat and e-cam. Felt good low but felt rather slow up top. So i assum it wasnt just my opinion.

Someone just told me that Professional products sent him a diagram to drill a hole in the butterfly to fix it. Says it fixed it but not comletely. So he bought a BBK!!! haha.

Also on another note. I just bought a ford Racing a/c delete to bring the powersteering up top. And i want to get rid of my smog as well. I have underdrives, but not sure what brand because they were installed before i bought the car. So anyone running this right now...i need a belt size, or part number. Would be great!!

When i put the valve covers on i ripped off the vaccum lines to the smog and blocked them off at the tree. Now i had 2 metal tubes, one that goes to the midpipe. And another that comes from the back of the heads. I dont know if i did a no-no. But i put a hose from one of them to the other. So in essance.....they are now connected to each other. But i just thought the air from the heads would just be pushed out the exhaust. Should i cut the hose i put on them in half and block them off seperatly?

THere has been a lot of technology improvement in the past 15 years. The ford alphabet cams would be the last thing I would put in my car.

Get a custom cam from Comp, Crower, or Camotion...

at work right now. valve covers leak oil in the rear. Kinda pissed about that. I will yank the upper once more and put on my stockers. Clean them up and make them pretty for the time being. Trickflow Valve covers dont like rubber gaskets with metal provisions. So i had to use a steel gasket with rubber on the inside. Hard to picture but you know what im talking about if youre a 5.0 guy.

Anywhoo...Put my fuel pressure gauge on it just 10 minutes ago and i was pushing 20psi if that. I adjusted it up to 38-40 and let it be there. So i will take it for a ride around noonish in a few hours and see if i remidied my problem.

Im in Somersworth. Dover/Portsmouth area. Nashua is cool place. i was just up there early summer for the Mustang show at the tech school.

Found my problem with power.....STARVING for fuel. was at 20psi bumped to 40psi and now it performed with the best of them. Really pulls all the way up to 6k. Kinda suprising how powerful it is down lower in the torque ranges as well. If im in third and let off and then punch it again it will break loose. Wasnt expecting that kinda torque from a Trickflow. People talk so bad about them.

And....my waterpump just blew up. Coolant everywhere.

Its a never ending battle. Brought another buddy down with a fox, says that noise isnt the throttle body noise. Service manager who has built race cars for the local track say it sounds like a vaccum leak. I sprayed carb cleaner everywhere possible and no change. Im really clueless what the noise is. Im yanking it all back down to swpa the valve covers for stock again. I'll check my upper gaskets and such.

I did indeed remove the smog pump and hoses. But i left the metal tube on the back of the heads and put a hose on it and it goes to the exhaust pipe portion of the smog stuff. Is this ok ?

whoa no, get a bolt and plug that in the hole, and with the belt if you still have a pulley where the ac goes then i believe it 84.5 inches. without ac i wanna say 79.5?

now you say with an ecam you guuys got power down low? thats what i thought was suppossed to happen but really mine doesnt kick in till 3k. what else could it be not making power till then?

if you still have the ac in i have a whistle too, but mine is simply from a loose bearing in the ac, shuts off when on the throttle or the ac is on, and only makes noise at idle.
