I blew the motor

So last night night I blew the motor in my 91 notch
Well here what happen I got a new tranny she has a regular patern and its an auto. I thought it was a reverse pattern thats what it use to be. My tuner explained but that was before I got to the track. So when I got to the track I did it like my old pattern and I thought I was going to 3rd but it was 1st. And well I won the race but she went end of the traps she reved to 9000-10000rpm and went boom. Dont make fun of me I all ready feel like a dum ass.

Why would you shift a 2 speed powerglide down after the traps? BTW- what did it run?

I'll guarantee it didn't spin 9000+ rpm. I'm reasonably sure your valvetrain wouldn't let it get near that rpm range.

Good call. Looks like some flip flopping going on here. First he has a Powerglide and now he has 3 gears.

And for you fools that are making comments about shifting an automatic, if you don't know what you are talking about to keep your mouth shut. Like they say, its better to be thought of as a dumb ass than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.......
