Go to an auto parts store like Advance or similar that has the isle with the "Help" parts, they may have the kit packaged with the sticker as well [see note 1]. For a cheaper fix if you do not want the striker piece or can't find it, just buy the "Help" part that only contains the gray plastic bushings, cut a split down the length of one side with a hacksaw. After this split is cut, it is flexible enough to slip on the striker post and sturdy enough to stay on. I did this about a year ago and have not had a problem.

Once that is on, adjust your striker position up or down to get the hatch to shut without using a lot of force.

[1] Caution on that, I bought the striker kit that claimed to be for my year (1988), but it did not fit.

Had to replace my hatch striker on my '90 LX 5.0. Bought it from CJ's. Couldn't find the lil black thingy that wraps around it..lol.
