87 Notch w/ 460. Questions.

Im about to buy an 87 Notch that has a 91 7.5l 460 in it. It has Cobra badges but I know its not a cobra, and there is no SVT badge present. Could it still be a Cobra?

Anyways, the 460 is out of an ambulance I believe he said. I looked at it today and it is a clean install, fluidyne aluminum radiator, Demon carb, X pipes turned down at the rear axle, Axcel Coil pack a couple of other things.

I am no where near a fox body expert, but I was wondering if there is anything that I need to look out for motorwise. Do they have known problems? Ive done some searching but havent seen anything worth not buying the car. It needs light exterior work, but paint is great. Has a ding or two in the passenger door, and needs a new hood. Other than that the exterior is great. It also needs a good ammount of interior work due to mistreatment from the original owner.

I have talked the guy down to 1000 and my JOBOX with a small ammount of tools in it. So now to big of a price tag. Car cranks and runs great. Just wanted you all opinion because you may have more experience with this style swap. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

1000 dollars sounds like a really good deal to me if it runs at all.i paid 2500 for mine and it didnt run,and needed a bunch of interior and exterior work

Well good. It does run great, no leaks, no stutter, nothing. The guy that is selling it to me a decent friend of mine, and is in financial trouble. I had to buy a new battery today to get it started but it fired right up. Hopefully itll be a good deal.

i know a guy in rhode island that has a 460 notch,its f**king awesome.

that thing should scream, there just a bitch to find alot of parts for...except dont plan on boring and stroking it..cuz those years had thin cylinder walls..it probably out of a f250 or f350...the only good 460's were rlly the ones around 1969-1974 any lincoln ford anything would be decent...but that thing will run 11's easy with heads, cam, intake and nice carb...good buy for $1000 A+
