I got Prothanes from Summit for about $90. They are extremely stout coming in at least 5lb a piece and made with a lot of 1/8 in thick yellow zinc plated steel with a solid poly center that is about 2.5in x4in thick. Looking at the construction and the materials, I'd say that is a fair price to pay. What car did you get some for $30 a pair?
