They're not bad heads. They breath better than stock and are alot lighter. But buying new is not really worth it because they're not much cheaper than trickflow or afr which breath way better. Depending on the price though i might recommend them.

I have them. Not the best in the world but I am making decent power with them. Not worth it to me to swap them out with something else yet. As others have stated, depends on the price.

Ford rates their crate engine at 340 HP flywheel which is basically a production 5.0l with X303 heads, an E cam, and a GT40 intake.

not a bad head, but if you have the extra couple hundred, then just get some twisted wedges.

If they're in good shape I'd say go for it.

oh sorry, didnt read the first post...not a bad price...the lowest you will probably ever find on a set of used Trickflows is 800-900...In my opinion, go for it!

I have these heads as well, with 1.7's. Bought them used with not many miles on them.

I havent put them on...should i sell and buy different ? I also have a Vortech V2-SQ with 8rib system. Will they work well with the s/c. Or should i just let them go and get something else.

I run those heads with 10# boost. Again, not the best head but they will work. I am not looking for a full drag car or the lowest ET possible out of my car (I still have cats, air pump, EGR, working A/C etc) and I rev limit at 6K so I can not comment on the performance above that other then it is still pulling hard when I hit the rev limiter.
I have other things I want to do with the car before I think about better heads but it is on my list.
