Question - can you mix different oils? My buddy wants to mix a quart of royal purple with a couple quarts generic oil. I told him it should be ok, just wanted to make sure they wouldn't separate or something?

Youd be wasting you money. Either go all synthetic or not at all.

Yes it is much better to run a full synthetic motor oil over a conventional oil.

U should learn to change ur own oil. It's easy and gives u that bond w/ ur car that every car owner should have

Plus u know it was done right, and w/ care. :wink

And make sure that car wash is no touch so u don't scratch up that pretty pony.

Yup, if a guy can't change his own oil that's a total turn off...

I have heard that a car that has high mileage and has only seen conventional oil its entire life shouldn't change to synthetic because synthetic is a thinner oil and with the pressure that the engine builds internally that the oil will leak through the pan gasket.

I thought synthetic oil was better for engines with high miles...
