Adding and AODE to 1969 Fastback
I couldn't figure out whether I should post this here or in with the classics--but the question seems primarily geared toward the late-model parts, so this forum seemed most appropriate.
I have a 1969 fastback with a stock 302. The carb was replaced with a throttle body fuel injection system. I just scored two trannys-- an AOD and an AODE. I want to replace the C-4 thats in the car now with the AODE. I dont have the computer that runs the AODE. I believe the unit came out of a 1994 T-Bird. I'm planning on going to the salvage yards to find the transmission computer, wire harness, dipstick tube and other misc. parts. Do I need to find another 94 T-Bird, or will any AODE loaded car have compatible parts for this trans? Any help is appreciated! |

there is no dedicated trans computer. it's part of the engine pcm. Ck out TCI as they have some dedicated trans controllers that will make this swap much easier

Thanks. I guess the real question is-- can you somehow use the original late-model PCM solely for transmission control, without engine control? Those aftermarket boxes are really expensive!
